Ripon City Golf Course is a relatively short par 71 course that measures 6,084 yards. The front nine has some interesting holes that offer fantastic views over the City of Ripon and is set in undulating parkland, so it can be quite demanding if walking. The back 9 is a bit flatter and has some particularly enjoyable holes including the 14th where players must play over a pond to reach the green.

Location

Located 30 minutes North of Harrogate, just 10 minutes from the A1.

Golf course

Ripon City Golf Course only recently celebrated it’s centenary year, and has established itself as a popular course in the area. The club hosts a number of local events and both visitors and societies are made to feel welcome. The course is not too demanding, although the unforgiving fairways and well guarded greens add an element of challenge for players.

Our view: Ripon City Golf Club

This club has a very welcoming atmosphere and a great clubhouse with a bar lounge that overlooks the course. The maturing trees that line the fairways make it difficult to reach the greens in regulation from wayward tee shots and there are two ponds that come into play for golfers to consider on the back nine. Overall, an enjoyable course that is definitely worth a round if you are visiting the area.
