Old Thorns is a fantastic 6,581 yard, par 72 championship golf course. The likes of Seve Ballesteros, Bill Rogers, Isao Aoki, and Jack Nicklaus have all played the course, with Aoki still holding the course record of 69 from the white tees. The plunging par – 4 fifth is among the prettiest holes you will find in England, while another elevated tee on the 17th makes for an equally unforgettable tee shot. Mature trees, natural springs, lakes and testing bunkers give real character to the course which.

Located near Guildford, just off the A3 and less than half hour from the M25.

Golf course

The championship golf course at Old Thorns Manor Hotel was completed in 1981 with the construction overseen by Honorary President and BBC’s ‘Voice of Golf’ Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas. Old Thorns Manor Hotel has a well equipped PGA approved Proshop, practice facilities, brand new sports bar, Starbucks café, locker rooms and Bunkers restaurant.
