Close House Golf Course (Close House Country Club)

The original course dates back to 1964, but the golf course has recently undergone a redevelopment with a substantial investment to produce one of the finest courses in Northumberland. The new course offers a great challenge to golfers of all abilities, with its USGA specification sloping greens and longer length it we will be a firm favourite for golfers in the North East. The House is then the perfect backdrop to sit and relax after a game of golf.

About Close House Golf Club

Location

Set on the banks of the River Tyne 10 mins West of Newcastle city centre

Golf course

An inland par 70 course that measures just under 6000 yards. The sloping greens provide an American feel to many holes but the views of the River Tyne are a constant reminder its North East roots. The recent lengthening of the course makes for a more tactical round than it once was and club selection is now key to a good score.

Recent investment has cemented Close House as a one the most popular venues with golfers in the North East. The house itself provides a charming backdrop for the post round banter and refreshments.
